Start low, go slow
Edibles work differently from smoking. THC you eat goes through digestion first, so it takes longer to kick in and usually lasts longer once it does. Feeling nothing for 30 minutes to 2 hours is normal.
That delay is where people get into trouble. They feel nothing, take another piece, and then both land at once. If you are new, start low (many people begin around 2.5 to 5 mg), wait at least two hours before taking more, and skip the alcohol.
Reading the label on edibles in Clovis, NM
Every edible on our menu shows the milligrams of THC per piece and per package. A 100 mg pack with 10 gummies is 10 mg each. If 10 mg is more than you want, cut one in half. Some products also list CBD as a ratio, like 1:1.
Drinks and chocolates work the same way: find the mg per serving and treat one serving as the starting point, not the whole bottle or bar.
Purchase limits and safe storage
New Mexico caps edible purchases at 800 mg of THC at one time. That is total THC across everything in your bag, so eight 100 mg packs is the max.
Keep edibles in their original child-resistant packaging, locked up or out of reach. Plenty of edibles look like ordinary snacks to kids and pets, which is exactly why they should never be left out. If someone eats one by accident, call Poison Control at 1-800-222-1222.
