Buying cannabis flower in Clovis, NM
Most people start with the indica, sativa or hybrid tag, and that is a fine place to start as long as you treat it as a loose guide. Plenty of folks reach for an indica in the evening and a sativa during the day, but two strains with the same label can feel pretty different. The tag is a hint, not a promise.
If you have liked a strain before, search for it by name. If you have not, tell us at the counter what you are after and we will pull a few jars for you to smell.
Reading THC percentage and terpenes
THC percentage tells you how strong the flower tested, and every listing on our menu shows it. Higher is not automatically better. A 20% strain you enjoy beats a 32% strain that is too much, and newer smokers usually do fine in the high teens.
Terpenes are the aromatic compounds behind the smell and taste: the pine, citrus, pepper or skunk you get when the jar opens. They are a big reason two strains with the same THC number feel different, so notice which ones you keep coming back to.
Sizes, from a gram to an ounce
Flower is sold by weight. A gram is a cheap way to try something new. An eighth (3.5 g) is the most common buy. A quarter is 7 g, a half is 14 g and an ounce is about 28 g. Bigger sizes usually cost less per gram, and this week's deals can bring that down further.
New Mexico lets adults 21 and over buy up to 2 ounces of cannabis at one time, and pre-rolls count toward that too. The New Mexico cannabis laws guide has the rest of the limits.
Keeping it fresh
Keep flower in an airtight container away from heat and sunlight and it will hold its smell and flavor for weeks. Leave it somewhere hot during a Clovis summer and it dries out fast. Smell-proof jars, grinders and papers are on the smoke shop side.
